The end of the semester is practically here. (Just) a final paper for my senior thesis project, 2 intern reports and presentation, and final eval paper, then exams, then Im done. It feels like Ive gotten a lot done from finishing those other 2 papers, but now I still have a lot left. On the good side, the more of these I do, the better I get and the more I learn. So, it's not totally wasted.

Speaking of the final days, I just got back from one of the last "gigues" of my friend's band. It was to raise money for a local clinic. It was pretty awesome, to say the least. A hell of a lot better than the one in early February. There weren't quite as many people there as I expected (I wonder why), believe it or not...but Im sure a lot of money was raised. I had to leave early in order to get some sleep for work early in the morning and here I am on my computer with a sandwich and soda.

I dont know if I will be posting much this summer, as I am not sure if I will have much internet access. I should make some damn good money, though. I know I will survive it...Im pretty self-reliant, so it shouldn't be bad. They have some statistical work for me to do related to quality control...and, considering the stat tricks I did on my last presentation, working for that crooked boss my dad works for may be a good fit ;-).

Anway, dont know if Ill be posting any more for a while. So, have a great summer!

Well..the time till graduation is closing down really fast. I can feel it. I feels like a lighter wallet and looks like a messy room full of books, printed articles and grad school papers. I just got my check this morning, so that really helped in getting some much-needed funds and- FOOD (other than kool-aid and ritz crackers).

 Easter break is this weekend and I am staying here and working on 2 research papers and a presentation. Last year I did the same thing over this break.  Worked on papers and lived on tv dinners (which I wouldn't recommend if its all you have to eat). This time wont be so bad, with my mom and sister coming up. I love easter. yay, jesus.

Ah, college life. It starves you, works you and breaks you, ...but pays off in the end and makes you a better, more well-rounded individual (at least that is what they say). Looks like I will quite possibly be going all the way at grad school, BS-MS-Ph.D. Ive looked at the courses offered, and some of them look pretty damn challenging (which is good) and some also look interesting (like, why the hell weren't those offered here? Guess it helps to be a research-one institution).

 

I can just tell...there is a very thick fog of jealousy in the air. It's pretty obvious most of the time you can just sense it- expecially when everything starts to go your way. Either that or with success there comes a sense of jealousy, either way, weather it exists or not, a fog is a good way to describe it. And, no Im not sure if Ive heard or read that somewhere before or not..."fog of jealousy" ...maybe it's cryptonesia.

Summer isnt going to be as bad as I expected. Going to do some work with statistical programs in an industrial setting. The first thing my 4 yr BS (lol) has afforded me, in addition to landing in a graduate program. Out of state tuition isnt going to be a deal in this case, because at this point, the only things Im concerned about are those which look good on a resume or CV. Do as much as possible, get as much field work experience as possible, the more the better. Ive always known that you can read until your eyes fall out, but the best way to learn is through practice.
